About Solar Village
Solar Village is a Norwegian startup company that designs, manufactures, distributes and finances solar solutions for African small-scale farmers. Our products are tailored to farmers’ needs, and are sold at a price they can afford. They enhance their agricultural productivity, incomes and general quality of life. Our first product and business model have been verified in our pilot country Zambia. We have established partnerships with large African agribusinesses enabling us to reach out to hundreds of thousands of farmers in a cost effective way. We recently won NOK 5 million in the Nordic Climate Facility competition. And now we are planning to significantly scale up our operations within Zambia and several markets across the African continent and move from being a startup to becoming an established company.
